What causes cellulite or "orange peel" skin?

Contrary to popular belief, cellulite is not related to being overweight: it affects just as many slim women as those with fuller figures. Cellulite is usually the product of a hormonal or dietary imbalance within the adipose (fat) tissues, resulting in more lipogenesis (fat formation) than lipolsis (fat breakdown). The adipose or fat cells swell, compressing the blood vessels and connective tissue, giving the skin a dimpled or "orange peel" appearance. Approximately 85% of women over age 20 are affected by cellulite, but this condition is rare in men.

In women, fat cells are arranged in vertical chambers separated by bands of connective tissue and blood vessels. If the fat cells increase in size, they are forced upward deforming the surface of the skin. This causes dimpling, or an orange peel appearance.

In men, the fat cells are arranged diagonal to the skin surface. When the skin is pinched, the fat cells move downward instead of upward, thus avoiding the orange peel look. Women's fat tissue structure is different from men's to facilitate fat storage for procreation. Since hormones play an important role in the lipd process, the key times for cellulite development are puberty, pregnancy and menopause. Unfortunately, exercise and reduced caloric intake alone are usually not enough to eliminate cellulite.

Lipolytic (fat break-down) effect

The Bodyfit™ technology used in Jouviance EcoRemodeling Gel contributes to reducing the size and number of fat cells in the body. This technicology inhibits the differentiation of preadipocytes to adipocytes, thereby stopping new cellulite formation. It also enhances the reversion of adipose tissue back to preadipocytes, thereby reducing existing cellulite. A grapefruit extract has been added to enhance the lipolytic effect.

Drainage

Cellulite leads to fluid accumulation between the fat cell deposits accentuating the skin's orange peel appearance. Bodyfit™ technology makes it possible to reduce fat cell size and release fluids trapped within the subcutaneous tissue. Jouviance EcoRemodeling Gel also contains ginger root to stimulate the circulation. A purified extract of Ruscus aculeatus is added to stimulate microcirculation, increase capillary tone and encourage fluid draining.

Firming

Matrixyl™ (palmitoyl pentapeptide - 4) has also been added to Jouviance Eco Remodeling Gel to prevent skin sagging as a result of reduced volume. Matrixly™ works to build the skin matrix thereby increasing skin firmness and elasticity.

Rapid Absorption

Jouviance EcoRemodeling Gel can be applied immediately after showering and before dressing, since it is absorbed into the skin very quickly.

Caffeine-Free

Unlike most other anti-cellulite products on the market, Jouviance EcoRemodeling Gel is caffeine-free and will not affect sleep quality.

Directions

Jouviance EcoRemodeling Gel can be used on any part of your body that needs firming and refining, including thighs, buttocks, abdomen, hips and arms. For optimal results, use twice daily, in the morning, before breakfast, and at bedtime.
